Beratung und Planung als "Rundum-Sorglos-Paket"

MWM GmbH in Mannheim is a global leading system supplier of complete, highly efficient facilities for decentralised energy supplies with gas and diesel engines. The company employs more than 1,100 employees in 10 subsidiaries, and generates an average annual turnover of around €330 million with ecologically progressive solutions for generating “clean energy”. MWM was established in 1871 by Carl Benz, and looks back on a long tradition.

Project challenges

Known for some years as “Deutz Power Systems”, the company was purchased by financial investor 3i in 2007 and has been operating under its former name MWM GmbH ever since. Until the end of 2009, the company also had an independent spare parts business unit. Following MWM’s withdrawal from the Deutz AG group, the spare parts business was to be operated autonomously and at a location near the production site in Mannheim. Implementation was scheduled for completion within a mere ten months.

io-consultants’ task was to provide comprehensive consulting, as well as planning and implementation support. The various steps towards seamless standard operations included a requirement analysis, property search, selection of service providers, system planning for logistics and IT, and relocation management. Suitable premises were found and equipped according to the defined needs, and the worldwide spare parts business was relocated without interruption of supplies, within the given ten-month timeframe. Competent project management and comprehensive expertise in all the required disciplines enabled fast and reliable implementation of this complex project.
